COMMISSION A PORTRAIT

The process of creating a commissioned portrait is work that I love to do for others. People ask me to draw for them for all kinds of reasons - from transforming a cherished photo into something new, celebrating a personal transformation or documenting a growing family.

I have drawn everything from an infants first moments to entire families, motherhood and nude portraits.

My chosen mediums are charcoal, pastel and graphite. I work on a variety of surfaces using only high quality materials.

How do I commission a portrait?

This will give you the opportunity to put across to me your wishes and ask questions. I will then be in touch to further understand your vision. We will discuss everything from sizes to prices. How and when do I receive the final artwork?

You will receive updates on your drawing(s) during the creation process as I work towards our agreed completion date.

I ship worldwide. In person collections and local deliveries are also available.

Please note, drawings required for December will need to be booked in as early as you can due to higher demand.

PRIVACY

Privacy is of upmost importance to me. Any references and final works of art will not be shared or discussed unless permitted to do so by client.

PRICING

Portrait commissions are unique, varying in size, scale, complexity and the time it takes to create. Below is a price guide based on a basic estimate. Quotes are further discussed before work is started and will consider all the variations inc' shipping and time.

DEPOSIT

Once we are both happy with all aspects of the project I will send across an Agreement Document. I then ask for a 40% deposit before work begins with the remainder (inc Shipping) due on completion.

DELIVERY

Shipping prices vary with location and size/weight. This will be part of the final quote. More local recipient's may pick up/request in person delivery.

COPYRIGHT OF REFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHS

Commissioner must hold the copyright on any photographs provided to use as reference material. If you do not own the photographs, you must have permission from the copyright holder for the photograph/s to be used as the basis for commission.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE PHOTOGRAPH(S)?

I'm able to offer in person sittings and photography so to gather reference's to work from. If it's not possible to arrange a sitting I offer a guidance service to help you in taking your own photos including basic lighting, angles etc. This has proved to be a successful option in the past.

COPYRIGHT OF ARTWORK

I retain the copyright on all the artwork produced by myself, Donna Murphy, including any artwork resulting from commission. This also includes the right to use images of the artwork in promotional material or on my website.

You may not reproduce any piece of artwork or print in any form without prior permission. You may, however, display commissioned artwork on social media, but it must not be reproduced or edited in any other form whatsoever. Limited Edition Prints and Art Cards featuring the commissioned artwork may be obtained from me.
